Therefore, in case you guys are a user who has not yet gotten the Android 12 OTA. Thus wishes to manually flash the firmware, or are a tech geek who is looking to unbrick the device. First of all, You have to install the Android SDK Platform Tools on your Personal Computer. Must keep in mind that this is the official ADB & Fastboot binary offered by Google & it is the only suggested one. Download it & then extract it to any suitable location on your Personal Computer. Doing so will provide you with the platform-tools folder, which you guys have to use throughout this guide.
Download Asus Zenfone 8 Android 12 Firmware
You have to download your device’s stock firmware just from the Asus official page. I am also using ZenFone 8 (ZS590KS) WW-31.1004.0404.81. Once you guys have downloaded the firmware, you have to extract it to any suitable location on your computer. You will then get a pair of files, as well as the payload.bin, which we will be using to get Android 12 onto your Asus Zenfone 8 device by using the Fastboot Commands.
Send Asus Zenfone 8 Android 12 Fastboot ROM Files to ADB Directory
When you guys have extracted the payload.bin file, you guys will get the needed partition files in IMG format. Send all these files to the platform-tools folder on your Personal Computer.
In case your device is bricked/boot loop, then the possibilities are that you guys would have already unlocked the device’s bootloader. Otherwise, users who are always looking to manually flash firmware probably still have their bootloader locked.
Remember that unlocking the bootloader will clear all the data & could also nullify the warranty. Take a complete device backup & just proceed to the unlocking process.
